📌 Note

In this article you can find a workflow example of how to automate post generation of every new article published, through connecting your RSS feed to Asters Autopilot.

Step by step guide

⏰ Time: 12 min

1️⃣

Before starting this flow, please check the article "How to connect Asters API to Autopilot".

Once you have accessed Asters Autopilot, click on Trigger

2️⃣

Then, click on RSS by Zapier

3️⃣

Now, click on Choose trigger event

Then, select New item in Feed

Finally, click Continue

4️⃣

Copy and paste the Feed URL you want to connect and click Continue

Finally, click on Test trigger

5️⃣

Select New item in Feed C and click Continue with selected record

6️⃣

Select Asters' App, chose the Create post event and access Asters account, check the article "How to connect Asters API to Autopilot"

📌 Note

Here you can choose within different options:

  • Add Label to Post, to add a label to the generated post

  • Change Post Status, to publish the post automatically

  • Create Post, to create a new post and save it as a draft

  • Remove Label to Post, to remove label to generated post

For the purposes of this example, let's select create post to generate posts and save them as a draft in the Asters calendar.

7️⃣

Now, select the Asters' Workspace and the Social Account you want your posts to be created on

8️⃣

If you want your post to use the same metadata image of your article, leave blank under Media URL

9️⃣

Here you can chose how you want your caption to be, it can be a fixed Text, you could use Asters AI Text generation feature or, as we advise and do in this example, you can select a RSS parameter

In the case of RSS parameter, you can select the one you prefer, in this example the article description has been selected. This means that the post text will be made of the article description.

🔟

You can also insert a Caption prefix (this passage is not mandatory, you can skip it if you don't want any Caption prefix to be used). In this example a Text Caption prefix has been written, using a call to action, such as "Read the article here".

1️⃣1️⃣

⚠️ Important

For your workflow to be successful it's mandatory that under Post Link you select True.

1️⃣2️⃣

Then, under Link URL, select Link

Here if you want, you could set Meta OG, Title and Description and all the UTMs in case you want to track this campaign

Finally, you can also insert an automated First Comment to all your posts, in this example the Text + Link option has been selected, with a call to action to visit the website

1️⃣3️⃣

Once you're done with setting up all your zaps, click on Continue

Here, you are asked to test that the flow is working correctly, click on test step

1️⃣4️⃣

One last step is required to activate the Auto-Publish feature of posts.

Click on the + symbol

Here select Asters again

Choose Change Post Status as the event and then Continue

Click on Post Id and select Create Post

Select ID with the Post Id code

Click on Post Status and Auto-Publish, finally click Continue

Then, click on Test step. Once the test is successful, click on Publish your Zap

When you Autopilot workflow is published you will see posts appearing in your Asters' Calendar

You can always click on the single posts to see the preview
